Background:

Professor Salah Al-Sharhan is a seasoned academic and leader in Systems Design Engineering and Computational Intelligence. Currently serving as Professor and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the International University of Science & Technology in Kuwait (IUK), he has held senior academic and administrative roles in different institutions. Professor Al-Sharhan has played a pivotal role in transforming higher education in Kuwait and the region, focusing on innovation, global alignment, and academic excellence.

In addition, Professor Al-Sharhan has contributed to national-level initiatives, including e-learning and e-health projects based on scientific models. He played a key role in developing strategic plans for various sectors in the State of Kuwait, such as the eLearning Strategy for the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, he served as the Program Manager for the eLearning Project, which encompassed 10 distinct initiatives. This remarkable national project successfully introduced eLearning to all schools across the State of Kuwait.Professor Salah’s professional focus areas include academic program transformation to OBE/CBE, university transformation into UNIV4.0, eManagement, eLearning, e-health, and PMO. Additionally, he conducts original research in intelligent systems and the application of computational intelligence techniques to a variety of real-life problems.
