Mikael Lundgren

Background:

From a background as a software engineer, Mikael came in contact with Lean Product Development and Agile very early, becoming one of the early practitioners around the turn of the millennium which eventually led him to work under the mentorship of Ken Schwaber to earn a Certified Scrum Trainer license.
Today, he brings 25+ years of lean and agile product development to the area of innovation strategy and management. Having worked with many organizations ranging from startups such as Spotify and Trustly to global organizations like GE Healthcare and Hitachi Energy as transformation leader, mentor, and in several interim capacities ranging from portfolio management, head of and director of product and R&D, project and program manager, he brings a wealth of practical know-how on how to organize and run an effective product portfolio, balancing successful product development with innovation strategy.
In 2010, Mikael made the first implementation of his effective framework for product and service development – The “Levla Model” – which has since been adopted successfully by several organizations.  He has been an active member of several think tanks and research networks around Lean Product Development.

Area of expertise:

  • Mikael’s area of expertise while focused on Lean and Agile also include portfolio and product management, software engineering, innovation strategy and machine learning, or “AI” where he is a popular speaker and advisor on the current state and future of machine learning.

Education:

  • Mikael holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Uppsala University, and several certifications around agile practices and machine learning.
